Full template

The heaviest template (large image + excerpt + metadata). Limited to 6 — a full collection with no limit gets very tall fast (that’s what the blog page is for).

Lab — The Complete Post, With Everything In Its Right Place

The happy path: image, subtitle, excerpt, author, date, tags

This is the shape every theme should nail first: a normal title, a real image, a paragraph-length excerpt with enough words to show how the card truncates or wraps, plus author and date metadata. If this looks good, most of your posts will.

Lab — No Image At All

Same as the happy path, minus the image

The image-less case is the one that breaks most themes: does the card collapse gracefully, or is there a sad empty box or a lopsided grid cell where the image should be? Everything else here is normal.

And a subtitle that is also on the longer side, to see how the two stack together in a card

This excerpt is intentionally far too long for any card. It exists to prove that your list, compact, and full templates clamp or truncate rather than letting the text run for a dozen lines and shove everything else around. Lorem-ish filler continues well past the point of usefulness so the truncation boundary is unmistakable, and then continues some more, and then a little more, just to be certain the clamp is doing real work and not merely coincidentally fitting.

Lab — Ünïcödé, Emoji 🎧🌍, and an Unbreakable String

Accents, scripts, and a URL with no spaces to break on

Mixed scripts (café, naïve, Zürich, 東京, مرحبا) and emoji 🚀 to check font fallback and line-height. The real trap is below the fold.
